the snapper

The Snapper isn't such a bad idea--what if you're carrying something and can't clap?

I agree, the 'snapper' is actually a good idea. If you can get a lamp to switch on from the sound of a clicking finger, but NOT from a loud noise like a clap, then it would be cool to just click your fingers to switch it on and off.

More stylish than just clapping your hand.

Plus, you can tell your friend that your lamp is sound activated, then laugh at them while they try to swtich it off and on by clapping ... then you snap your fingers.

Someone should patent this.

It's only a good idea with a choice--snap or clap. The main drawback of clapping is that two hands are required--not always available. Clapping is generally louder than snapping, so a minor sensitivity adjustment could be the key to controlling the device's options!

There's may be a low percentage of people who can snap their fingers loud enough. You can put something down and clap, but you can't overcome snapping inability, or arthritis. So clappers are less likely to end up totally frustrated, and perhaps not able to turn on a light when needed.

A Snapper company might end up with a lot of returned Snappers.
