A few questions........ For the first two movies.

First off Larry's boss Dr. McPhee.

He seems to live in the museum a lot howcome he never ever caught all the exhibits coming to life at night?

Surely there must have been a time when they came to life and he was in the building, wouldn't he have?

And a more complicated question.

When Robin William's character is injured you clearly see he is made of wax so in the second movie had Larry and Amelia Earhart kissed passionately would he feel flesh lips or wax? Or was it flesh outside when they are alive and wax inside?

Come to think of it a figure like her coming to life. you couldn't make love to it anyway could you?

I did wonder if the tablet could make them all proper living figures.

reply

Okay, so I wanted to take a whack at these questions :)

I used to wonder about Dr. McPhee (part of me thought that he knew but didn't want to believe it) as well, he does seem to live in the museum however, I don't think he's been there as long as Cecil has. Reginald and Gus may not have been working there for 50 years (I think that's how long Teddy says when he tells Ahkmenrah he's not getting out of the sarcophagus) but I think Cecil has. I think that he would know some of the information about the tablet, especially once he learns what it does and being part of it's excavation as a kid. After all, it is because of him that the other exhibits were afraid of Ahkmenrah and never let him out. So, in short, I would assume that Cecil prevents McPhee from being around, or at least seeing anything. If he knew that taking the tablet from it's place in the Egyptian exhibit and fiddling with it stopped the exhibits then what's to stop him from doing that when McPhee is around.

Yeah, I really like Amelia too, sad that the circumstances were what they were. But, the tablet doesn't turn them into real people. Amelia may not exactly be wax. Teddy is wax but Sacajawea is plastic, did they say what Amelia was? I don't remember. But Larry probably tasted wax or whatever her substance was. It's interesting to think about it. Remember when he kisses the woman from the army photo? She was real but a photo... so I would assume he was kissing the real woman who was captured in the photo but not the woman herself.

But I doubt the tablet can make them living people, Rexy never grows his flesh back ya know? But Ahkmenrah who was a living person, comes back to life period. I would assume that he decays every morning before literally coming back to life.

reply

OMG that last bit with Ahkmenrah. Gross lol.

I can picture him rotting away every morning then new flesh every night. Glad they did not show us this.

In a way I am glad they didn't push the romance thing with Amelia, it could have gotten awkward. I mean she may not even have had all her lady parts.

reply

lol I know it's gross, but it's actually kind of sad and cool at the same time. I actually would have wanted to see him wake up at least.

They still tried to get him a romance with that Amelia lookalike at the end of the movie, it would have been nice to see him going steady with her but there isn't a romance in the third because they wanted him to focus on his relationship with his son.

reply

Wasn't the lady at the end supposed to be the real Amy Adams played by Amy Adams?

Have not seen the 3rd one yet. Mixed reviews over here so has the tablet run out of power?

And why was it blue in the trailer and not a golden glow?

reply

Well she wasn't exactly "Amy Adams" she was "Laila" or something, I don't remember what her name was but he even asked her if she was related to Amelia because she looked like her. But she wasn't supposed to actually be Amy Adams.

You should see it if you like these movies. I really liked it. I mean I love all of them but this one definitely is up to par with the first one. I still wish Ahkmenrah was more involved throughout the trilogy (I have strong feelings on this... he was a missed opportunity) but glad he was present throughout the third. Even if you are hearing mixed reviews, yours is the only one that counts, especially if you're like 'I want to see it but these reviews...' but if you're like 'eh it doesn't matter' then don't worry about. Wait till later. But it would also help so that I'm not spoiling it for you.

Well, it is running out of power lol and the glow is blue (but is turning black) because it's dying. A golden glow is used for when it's magic is being used. Not really smart to use the "positive" glow to emphasize the "negative" part that is happening.

Thanks I wasn't sure as it's been a while since I saw the movie

then don't worry about.

I won't... I generally avoid reviews as I find they may say one thing which the writer of the review wants but when I see the movie I end up liking it a whole lot so say "stuff you" to the reviewer.....

I will go see the third one.

I can say that I don't agree with you Larry's boss Dr. McPhee on living at the museum a lot, since i would think he would have some kind of home to go home to after he is done with his job, I mean in less he has on head phones, or anything to cause him not to hear what is going on. And Theodore Roosevelt explains to Larry that they come to life at night, so during the day they are not they are just standing in their spots like with him on his horse, which is pretty much like Toy Story. And well for your other question, I have seen the second movie, and love the movie but I don't remember Amelia Earhart ever saying she is made out of wax like how Theodore Roosevelt does in the first movie, so whether he would feel flesh lips, wax or was it flesh outside when they are alive and wax inside, your guess is as good as mine, if not better then mine. I would have to assume that they would be wax whether inside or outside.

reply

Well then it's a good thing Larry never bonked Amelia..

Could have been embarrassing for both of them.
