Did Dr. McPhee know
I mean, before he saw neanderthals and other live exhibits on the tv news, did he know that everything comes to life at night?

sharegood question.. I thought about that too, and even re-checked some parts of the movie...
it's never clearly stated, but based on one of the last scenes (when McPhee watches the chaos on TV) I think it's implied that he knew: he watches the whole thing calmly and seems disappointed (rather than confused-- which could be his actual reaction if he didn't know)... yup!
I think you are right.
If he did not know, he would have been in a more erratic state after watching the news.
I agree as well. If he didn't know they came alive, surely he'd be like, "what the hell is this, you got a bunch of friends to dress up and climb on the roof and pretend to be cavemen, etc"

Regardless of what the filmmakers originally intended, in Secret of the Tomb Dr. McPhee only learns of the tablet's power at the end.

Dr. McPhee was completely clueless. He's supposed to represent the boss who is intellectually brilliant yet socially brain-dead.
