Why not let Pharaoh out??

What didn’t Teddy or anyone else let the Pharaoh out of his tomb for over fifty years? Didn’t see any reason to leave him in there, he seems to get along fine with everybody when he finally did get out and the spell wasn’t broken. Did the guarding Jackals prevent anyone from releasing him?

I think it has to do with the fact that the night guards had a plan to steal it. Probably not from the start, but they did want it. So in that case they couldn't let him out or he'd be in control of the museum. Just my thought.

reply

Okay, seriously, would you release a re-animated mummy? Particularly one who may be upset at being parted from his precious tablet? Maybe it's just my years of watching American cinema, but I think I'd be a bit freaked out at the prospect! They have enough going on without worrying about a line of Civil War soldiers chanting "Imhotep! Imhotep! Imhotep!"

That last part made me laugh. And I love the first part of your sig, I have that movie. It's great.

Dear me! What is that unpleasant aroma? I fear the sewer may have backed up during the night.

If Book was in Intelligence B4 finding God,does that mean He's a Shepherd Spy? (Thank You,Spike..)

reply

No, I haven't, but I've heard it was really good. Is it? Where can I get it?

Available in all good video retailers (as they say),or on Netflix, and if you've gotten to know any other fans of the movie, they've been known to keep a loaner boxset of the series around for Newcomers! I went and bought a set after I'd seen the Movie! check out the "Firefly" board too for discussions :)

Um...the quote I was talking about is from The Last Unicorn, not Serenity. I heard that the book that The Last Unicorn was good. I've never seen Serenity.

I think "Captain Planet" is something that should be mandatory to watch nowadays.

Team Jacob!

Thanks. "The Last Unicorn" is one of my favorites. The second part of my signature is from a text based adventure game I used to play on a dial-up BBS. It's like bait for old timer computer nerds like myself. ;)

That's cool. I remember games like that. You'd type in, like, "turn left" and it would say "you are now facing a dead end" or summat like that.

well, the reason i thought was that whenever he was locked up in there, he was screaming like a madman, and pounding and shaking the sarcophogus so to anybody who witnessed that, it would seem like there was a complete psycho inside there. also, if it was 50 years ago that it had been there, i doubt the guards who larry took over for were there in the begining

reply

Could have been the Anubis Guards keeping the others away...The "Crazy guy in the sarcophagus" act could have helped...but mostly I think it would have been Cecil and the other Guards having found out about the tablet (How many Years were they aware of what was going on and taking advantage?) and not wanting the status quo to change!

Waiting for my life to be changed....

have u ever seen the 1930s movie version of the mummy? scary as hell!

reply

I think what they were worried about was the impending doom he would inevitably cause on the worldSource:Movie Reviews - Night at the Museumhttp://moviereviews.noskram.com/2009/09/movie-reviews-for-night-at-the -museum

reply

think about it all the other's characters where waxwork's or models. He was the real deal and as it was his tablet he has been stuck in the sarcophagus coming alive every night not for 50 years but 3000+ years.
He seemed to handle it quite well come to think.

I don't think the Pharaoh's guards cared much about what was going on in the museum, they were minding their own business making sure no one enters the Pharaoh's tomb. But letting him out would've been the wisest thing to do as he was the emperor and he has the power to command all. I'm not surprised that thought never crossed his mind, listening to his screams was a nightmare.
