Denzel Washington looked like CR*P with a shaved head. It made him look 40 years older. WHY do some men try this shaved head garbage?? Doesn't he own a mirror??

Another thing, don't you think he consulted with the filmmakers? Denzel isn't bald in real life. As far as I know he never has worn his hair that way. Don't you realize you have to have a certain look or be in character visually for different movies?

shareDirectors may tell an actor to change (or remove) hairstyle, hair length, etc. It all depends on the director's decisions.
One of my favorite actors is Michael Caine and he wears short hair. But, in Children of Men, he played an old hippie with long hair.
Geoffrey Rush usually wears his hair short, but he had long hair in the POTC series and in Intolerable Cruelty and a shaved head for a stage play he did for a few months. Many of the actors in the Lord of the Rings trilogy also usually wear short hair. Some may have had wigs or add-ons there, but some had only their real hair.
