Squirrel Running Across Tracks
Anyone notice the squirrel run across the tracks in front of the train just before it hits the horse trailer? I thought it was a bit funny.

shareNot a squirrel, a groundhog. But yeah, I noticed it too. I wonder if he/she was a trained "movie" groundhog (intentionally released off-camera by the crew) or a real, wild one that just scurried across the tracks by accident during the shot. Whichever, he should have been credited at the end--"John Q. Woodchuck" or "Scranton Sam" or something. Definitely a star in the making.
shareIt must have been a stunt groundhog. I can't imagine them making the effort to release it from the side on purpose. I'm sure he just happened to be there at the right time!
shareHaven't seen this yet but I'm looking forward to that little fellar!Nice comic touch.

I caught that as well. I thought to myself... that little creature has more sense than all those humans standing around!

It was a coincidence, read that in an interview!
shareSquirrels arnt that big. Otherwise! This'd be a horror flick. It has been discussed as to what it was. That was an accident. With PETA hanging around, there is no way possible that they through it out there intentionaly.

Squirrels not that big? You need to visit Texas.

shareIt wasn't a squirrel or a groundhog.
It was a racoon.
I thought it was a raccoon too when I saw it... I haven' seen a groundhog running around in real life though, so I guess I don't know. It would have been the Godzilla of squirrels though if it were one.
shareI get racoons on my porch almost every night. That ain't no racoon!

LOl......well this movie was shot partly in the town I am from Yorkville, OH and also the town just a few minutes up the highway Mingo Junction ,OH and I can tell you without a doubt that it was indeed a groundhog....they are quite abundant in this part of the state. I noticed it while watching the movie as well...I thought man, what are the chances!!
shareI believe it was Puxatony Phil vacationing in Ohio at the time. It is rumored that he was approached by the production crew at the last minute and he accepted their offer to do this stunt. I think he should get an Oscar nomination for 'Outstanding performance in his field'; or, in this case 'Outstanding performance while crossing the tracks'.
shareJust watched the movie for the 1st time yesterday. I realize this is an old post but cool to know the actual towns. I didn't see the ground hog but will look for him next time. Thanks.

Just try to stay alive and see what the next minute brings.
I thought it looked like a fox, but I live in the UK. Not sure they have them in the US.
shareCall the mammal by it's real name. Chuck.

I watched the movie on blu-ray in HD and rewound it when I saw that. Definitely a raccoon. I thought it was cool too.
