How come Shane has no Mother or any females around him

It would have been nice also if Liz the assistant to the Hollywood man that originally owned the dog came to Shane and sympathized with him or even Jessie and JJ. But I know that Shane was upset when his Uncle died but how can he have no Mom if his Dad did you know what with someone and Shane came into the world.

Plus even though they didn't show it in the movie, did Shanes Dad and Jesse form a relationship and will they get married so she can be his new stepmom and JJ a half sister. Anybody please let me know.

No not half sister yet but if his father and Jesse get married much later on, if they do, then she would be his half sister and yes JJ did ask Shane if he would like to go with her and his father and her Mom for ice cream which is a starter and by the way please someone answer the rest of my post of what I wrote previously

At the beginning of the movie, one of the firemen mentioned Shane's mother walked out on him and his father when Shane was two years old.

Also, not to correct you, but if Connor (Shane's father) and Jessie got married, JJ would be his step-sister, not his half-sister. He could only have a half-sister if Connor and Jessie conceived a daughter together.

(FYI - I took both my kids, ages 9 1/2 and 5, to this movie thinking it would stink since it didn't get very good reviews and I came out of the theatre enjoying it more than they did, I believe.)
