A discussion of... everything

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

*BUT GIVEN THE SHOW IS DONE NOW YOU'RE QUITE STUPID TO BE READING THIS BOARD IF YOU DON'T WANT THE END RUINED*

So besides the humor of it, the show is quite psychological (particularly things concerning Clay).

I guess to start, 'cause this has been on my mind most, isn't it interesting how Clay's twisted nature as an adult is in part to not just his raising by his mother (for that short time) and his father, but also Bloberta's fault?

While she's disgusted with him, she was the one to first introduce him to alcohol...

Then I was surprised that of all people it was Coach Danielle in the finale, as perverted as he is, to show maturity and even care for Orel. When he first started spending time with Orel that day I thought he might gain a fixation on Orel as he took his mind from Clay and the pain he felt, but he actually showed responsibility and nurturing to him.

Thoughts? Other points anyone would like to mention?

I don't know that I'd blame Bloberta, since Clay was an adult when he met her and made his own bad choices. I'd say the two of them are just incredibly screwed up people who ended up together, although as screwed up as she is Bloberta seems like the more grounded one. She is, in her own way, the one keeping the family together.

At first I thought Stopframe was going to get all icky with Orel too so his fatherly role was a nice surprise. DAMN I wish Lazzo had let Dino have his 20 episodes, too many stories were left dangling. Apparently Dino posted his aborted script for Sculptam's pregnancy on his Myspace page for a short while and those who read it said it was very poignant, but obviously not what Adult Swim wanted cause the start of that storyline in "Alone" got them to cancel the show.

I would have also like to see Censordoll's story fleshed out more. Her relationship with Clay must not have been too satisfying if he's still crawling back to Stopframe in the last episode. I'd also like to know why her mother felt the need to take her ovaries out when she was a baby. HONESTLY would it have hurt stupid AS to let them do 20 last shows and just say it's the final season? Spilled milk I guess.

What else ... oh man "I hate my boss," Rev. Putty sure is in the wrong line of work. That guy is too hilarious. His advice to Orel: "A jerk's a jerk, what can you do." Priceless!

An interesting observation I've made is that I'm pretty sure everyone but Orel and Putty are atheist, or at least agnostic.

Orel, Putty, and Christina, I'd say. The rest seem... well, some seem to believe in God, just struggle or don't want to follow (the Principal seemed to have a degree of believing, just couldn't give up his lust).

Oh, Nurse Bendy could possibly be one of the better people as well, and Joe, even if he is a little smart ass.
