I am a born-again Christian and I really enjoy Moral Orel

I think it is a great satire- some "Christians" do use their religion as a crutch- one more thing to make them feel superior- one more thing to be addicted to. I believe in God, yes but I do not lord it over people. I also like the way it ended.

I just have to say I am happy that there is at least one Christian out there who gets this show. I am sure there is more, but you are the first I have seen/heard admit to liking this show. I am not Christian, I do not classify myself as being any one religion, sorta made my own. But I have always seen this show as being a story about a group of people being too literal about their religion, not just Christians. I think they made the family Christian (or I think Catholic more specifically) because that is the dominate religion in our country. Regardless if the family and/or town was Christian or not, the point is that everyone is too literal about religion, and most take it to the point where they can justify their own hypocrisies but not the mistakes or choices of anyone else.

The show did, however, make a lot of jokes as Christianity's expense, but it is nice to know there is one Christian out there who understands that it is all in good fun and complete satire. Thank you, truly.

" I think they made the family Christian (or I think Catholic more specifically)"

...No, this show is definitely not about Catholics. These are the literal-Bible nuts, probably evangelicals or fundamentalists. These people hate Catholics; they think that Satan works through them.

While Catholism is the largest sect of Christianity in the US, the hard-core Bible-thumpers are not Catholic. Catholics do not take a literal interpretation of the Old Testament. Taking a literal interpretation of the Old Testament takes a special kind of lunatic which is what this show portrays.

If you have had any experience with these kind of people, you would see that this show is not too far off from how they really are. No matter how over-the-top with god you try to go in a parody, there is no way to out-do the true fundie.

I really wish this show hadn't been cancelled, I really like the direction it went in Season 3. Dino [not even going to attempt to spell his last name] is a heck of a writer. I "discovered" it after it had finished, but it's one of the best shows [as] has produced. Who knows though maybe if it kept going people would've lost interest or it would've gone in a direction I didn't like. Having that few episodes in the series makes it more special in a way.

I don't like saying "I'm a Christian and I like this show" like I'm bragging, but I also am, and I do, and while some of the pointed stuff towards Christians I don't like, a lot of the times it is so absurd, smart, funny, etc that I can't help but like it. Plus the characters are very real, mostly in Season 3. And the ending of the series makes you feel so good :) . If anything for Christians it might give us something to think about, though we obviously don't agree with the view the show is taking on Christianity. Humans are flawed by nature so obviously just because some Humans are Christian doesn't mean they are suddenly perfect, as this show reflects. I was going to say it even goes further and says that Christianity makes people worse, which I obviously don't believe, but I can't help notice real-life similarities in Moral Orel.

OK that was kind of a ramble, sorry.

You mean: "I'm" and a lower case "b" for "blasphemy" and a period after banned, then a new sentence. Then, you mean "shouldn't" and "allowed."

Also, you should have probably started a new sentence after "also," but I'm not going to nitpick.

Phew. Okay. Now, what was your *beep* point?

Are you upset just because your religion is the object of mockery? Or would you be equally appalled if another religion were the target?
