This is probably a stupid question but I've been wondering. The quote "when I'm thirsty it feels how I feel when I'm alone", is that meant to imply that he's becoming an alcoholic?

I always took it as it was uncomfortable or it hurt to be alone. Though, with this show, I guess you can interpret some things in multiple ways.
