Meaningful and sad and ending his storyline in a way that seemed true. For the mayhem of the finale, his death was the one that said the most to me.

Agreed - his first thought was that Dolores might be cold (and boy did she turn out to be)

Nice redemption for her, that she saved him and sent him to the valley beyond (presumably without her mods)

And yet I don't understand how is that he was floating in the water with the rest of the corpses in the first episode (or was it the second one?)...

Exactly. The place where he shot himself and the flooded place where his body was found with other hosts. How'd it teleport there? One helluva plothole if you axe me.
