I always relate to films
Kind of like in this one my father was my brothers basketball coach in Junior High. As a little girl I spent many afternoons in the gym with the squeak of sneakers on the floor.
We had a basketball court in our backyard.
I could shoot a foul shot at five years old and would be asked to do so to prove that anyone should be able to do it (including Shaq).
I also got stuck playing on an all boys basketball team at seven years old which I promptly quit because I'm actually totally girly even though I'm athletic.
Both my ex-husband and father had basketball scholarships to college which neither one of them accepted because of a soccer scholarship (ex-husband) and a lacrosse scholarship(father).
I expected to have boys who were great at basketball and was hoping for the height of my husbands father who was said to be 6'7".
I'm a little surprised to find people couldn't stand the juvenileness of this film. We all are suppose to aspire to our best. I thought it was refreshing even though I just discovered it.
