If Troy had the first line in the song, why didn't he sing it the first time? Why did they stop the song to give Gabriella a pep talk if she wasn't even starting the song?

He changed it up for her and sang her first lines.

He could see the fear plastered all over her face. She had already shared she had stage fright so he went to comfort her
