I quite enjoyed it, any similar movie recommendations?

I thought this movie was good - I quite liked the story and the way the investigation played out.

Does anyone know of similar movies, don't have to be based at a newspaper.
I've seen and enjoyed Zodiac and I also enjoyed the Davinci Code (does that make me have poor taste? Oh well)

Anything made in the last 30 years and above a 6 rating is fine.
Appreciated, thanks internet.

I think you'll enjoy All the King's Men, its a good film with a great cast starring Sean Penn and Jude Law..Michael Clayton is another movie worth checking out as well.

Hey there, made you look at my signature - didn't I ? . . :-)

Watch the original British serial. It's on Netflix (DVD's side, it's not on instant). The plot of the American adaptation is pretty true, only with things cut (to get from 6 hours down to 2), so some of the *shock* moments will be lost on you, but it's still a great show well worth watching.

I also recommend the 6-hour BBC version of State of Play (well worth one's time and money). In addition to Michael Clayton, here are three films from the mid-1970s I can recommend:

The Parallax View (Warren Beatty as a reporter uncovering a senator's assassination)

The Conversation (Gene Hackman)

Three Days of the Condor (Robert Redford)

And don't forget Russell Crowe's brilliant Oscar-nominated role as "The Insider" in the tobacco industry.

Three Days Of The Condor is the ultimate "inside government conspiracy" film although it was made more than 30 years ago. It also contains one of the best all-time lines in Hollywood history!

If you haven't seen "Rubicon" I would recommend that too, although it's not a movie. It is an excellent 13 episode series produced in 2010 for AMC who, unfortunately, cancelled it after its initial season. It may be the best of this genre I've ever seen. The only place you can access it is on Amazon instant Video. It has not been released on DVD and no other streaming service has it, to my knowledge. In fact I spent a lot of time searching after hearing about it from a friend. I joined "Amazon Prime" for the sole reason of being able to watch this series, which I blitzed through in two days.

Rubicon stinks.

Conspiracy Theory/Micheal Clayton/Three Days of The Condor worth looking for.

Edge of Darkness has a similar take on being a bit convoluted, though its story and motivation would be closer to something like Taken.

Spotlight just came out yesterday, and although it's probably because of the newspaper angle, it still reminds me a lot of State of Play (I have yet to see it). This one is based on a true story though, so if you know the real story already maybe it won't be enough to fill your void.
