I grew up in astoria at this time

NO girl would walk the streets in those skanky ass outfits. We dressed nicely and always looked clean.
The train was the RR. The R came later.
There was not so much grafiti on the building outside of the train.
I'm pretty sure the Cypress club was in my father's building, on Hoyt Avenue, not on Ditmars.
If the boys went to Mater Cristi (later saint john's) they didn't need to take the train home to Astoria.

I grew up in new Rochelle, about this same time. I would have to agree.
