maybe im just not deep enough to get it, and i did skim a few slow parts, but

"As his friends end up dead, on drugs or in prison, he comes to believe he has been saved from their fate by various so-called saints."

where the hell was this touched on?

where? when does this movie allude to saints? was that from Downey, b/c i faded on all non flashback scenes

his saints weren't angels or anything like that. they were the people in his life. his friends, his family.
