The Adrienne Shelly Memorial Garden

The City of New York has established a memorial garden in honour of the late Adrienne Shelly. The garden is situated in Abington Square Park in the West Village and can be found on the corner of 8th Avenue and 12th Street. The park is just yards away from the apartment building where the actress and director was murdered by an intruder in November 2006.

The garden will be formally opened on the 3rd of August by the unvieling of a plaque by Adrienne's husband Andy Ostroy. From what I have heard, this garden is a very beautiful place to visit. I am sure that it will stand as a fiiting monument to a extremely talented woman who's life was cut short all to soon.

Thank you very much for posting the link. It is greatly appreciated. By all accounts, Adrienne was a lovely lady and I am so glad that the City has seen fit to remember her in this way. If anyone has visited the garden and has taken any snapshots, would they be kind enough to post them below? Alternatively, they could post them on Adrienne Shelly's own message board under the thread entitled 'If You Are A Fan of Adrienne...'.

Thanks.
