Were the recipes for the pies real? Can they be found anywhere?

I just watched this on HBO, and I was wondering if the recipes for the pies were real. They should really include them as an extra on the DVD, the chocolate ones sounded amazing!

There are some.

Frieda, do you have the links? I never took them down.

I googled Waitress pie recipes and found this:

The Mermaid Pie looks great, but very sweet. I want to try the falling in love pie. That looked delicious. Has anyone tried any of the recipes yet?

I've made the Falling in Love Chocolate Mousse Pie. It's delicious! ...and fairly easy to make. I also have the recipe for the "don't want earl to kill me pie" and the "marshmallow mermaid pie", and can't wait to try them!

I found most of them online, but the one I really want to make I can't find anywhere. "I Hate My Husband Pie" It was the one with bittersweet chocolate and caramel. If anyone has found this one let me know.

The Mermaid Marshmellow one looks so cute and yummy. I think I'll make it for my niece on her birthday she would love it.

They are at the movie's official site

I'm surprised there wasn't a whole little cookbook to go along with promo-ing the movie

reply

A cookbook? That would have been an excellent idea! I believe that the recipies for the film were actually Adrienne's own. Whatever else her detractors may say about her, they have to admit that Shelly was not one of those self-styled bourgeois 'feminists' who dump all of their responsibilities on a sucession of under-paid foriegn domestics while they concentrate on their high-flying careers. Adrienne loved to cook and look after her family. I think it must have been the Jewish Mother in her. Perhaps if All For A Films eventually DO publish the script for 'Waitress', they wll include the recipies at the back...

That link no longer works, but the "Wayback Machine" web archive still has it:

(If you copy it, be sure to get the whole link.)

Thanks for the links everyone.

I was just sad there wasn't a recipe for the 'Lonely Chicago Pie' I really wanted to try it out too. Must make the 'Chocolate Mousse Falling in Love pie'. Mm-hmm.
