Why didn't her friends stop her at the end?

When Earl was so furious he comes and pulls her out of the party and drags her to the car and then back home. No one steps in and tells her not to go. Earl was so angry he could of killed her and the baby! Some friends! To just let her go with him like that!

I take your point Roses888, but you must remember that Earl prevented Jenna from developing any really strong ties with any of the women that she worked with. I don't think that he would have been happy if Jenna had gone out for a 'girl's night-out' on a regular basis, he was too much of a control-freak for that. Earl pretty much had her all to himself.

Besides which, a lot of people in small-towns (or inner-city projects for that matter) have the philosophy that 'you don't get in a middle of another couple's argument'. It's sad so say, but I found the reaction of Jenna's workmates to Earl's behaviour to be depressingly familiar.
