Yeah, it's a pretty solid action/adventure flick. It started off rocky, I'll admit, but once they got into the story proper, I was into it. I liked the parkour action they managed to translate from the game (I mean it's no District B13, but what is?), the side characters that started to show up (like Alfred Molina), I like the way they handle the brotherly relationships, I dug Ben Kingsley in his role, even the romance between our two leads worked, something that's usually the MOST forced thing in these kind of movies actually managed to not be. They had their own memorable, fleshed out characters and it was able to show how much they needed each other to save the day, not just heavily focus on one character and kinda just give scraps to the other.
While I was watching it I drew comparisons to John Carter...and it made me realize just how little I remember about John Carter. At least that central romance or whoever the villain was and what he was doing. Taylor Kitch as JC and the alien folks I remember, but everyone else....nah. Disney took a step back 2 years after PoP when making JC.
But yeah, it's a solid 7/10 for me.
