I don't Like Rap. Here is my take on Notorious.

I'm more into Post-Rock bands like Explosions in the Sky, This Will Destroy You, Sigur Ros, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor so this film is not for me...but I rather enjoyed this film. Now lets get into this.

First I wanna give props to Woolard and his portrayal of B.I.G he shined in this role and I would love to see him in another film. As for Derek Luke he always does a good job in films and his performance as Puff Daddy was yet another great job. Now onto Anthony Mackie the guy can act that's proven just see "The Hurt Locker" the guy held his own against Jeremy Renner and Guy Pearce, but his portrayal as Tupac wasn't to great. I'm not really familiar Kevin Phillips (if anyone has any suggestions for his roles let me know) he really shined and I'm a fan.

Second I never followed the story of B.I.G and Tupac and their fued with the whole west cost, east coast BS (keep in mind I'm not a rap fan) that costs both of them their lives, but I do remember the impact it had on the fans, and I bet it was a very sad day when Tupac was murdered and later when B.I.G was murdered, so my condolences to the fans.

Third I really liked the end of the film, showing B.I.G's mother riding in the hearse and showing all of the fans showing respect for the singer and I can honestly say I teared up.

So long story short I enjoyed Notorious with mad props going to Woolard, Luke, Bassett, Smith, and Phillips so a solid 7-10 is what I'd give it. I would recommend it if you're in the mood for a rise to fame flick.

Don't worry, I saw Lord of the Rings. I'm not going to end this 17 times.
