'STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON (2012)'
And the upcoming (as of now) Untitled (2011) Antoine Fuqua Directed Tupac Shakur Biopic will *beep* all over this trash.
I find it mind boggling that biggie got a movie before the likes of Tupac & the Members of N.W.A. (Eazy, Cube, Dre, & Ren) when their life story & Careers are a million times more interesting than biggies. Face it, without Pac & N.W.A. biggie wouldnt be *beep* Now thats a fact. Pac MADE biggie, through his concerts & mentor ship. Biggie even went as far too admit this fact, aswell as basing the structure and SOUND of his debut record on Dr. Dre's The Chronic & 2Pacs Me against the World. Yes, the record that so called brought the "east back" in the mid 90's when the Westcoast were literally bumping out classic after classic albums was a 2nd rate clone of a WEST COAST RECORD. ahaha!
Just look up 2Pacs life story and youll find he was destined for greatness. From literally ALMOST being born in a jail cell, being the son of Black Panthers & relative to other revolutionaries, being homeless as a child, moving from city to city just to survive, the struggles of poverty and how he persevered through it, gaining knowledge through schooling & the arts, moving to the west were he met and learned "street knowledge" from street drug dealers and hustlers, touring with Digital Underground, his mothers battle with crack, the infamous "bloods & Crips truce" he help set-up, The countless lawsuits and the jail time he served, the infamous time he pulled a gun on two cops for harassing a fellow citizen, the countless fist fights that occurred during his time spent at deathrow (remember sam sneed? lawlz) countless interviews and speeches he made during his (short) lifetime that were NEVER short of entertaining, introducing the world to biggie, thug life, & tha outlawz, the time he literally saved tim dog from getting killed from pissed off west coast "gang bangers" for his "*beep* compton" song, the infamous NY shooting, the east coast-westcoast beef, "hit em up" and the many other jabs at the east coast, the time he rolled up on nas, the many Poems he wrote, His movie career, His incredible work ethic (producing up to 5 or more songs a day), the screenplay for a movie he wrote in prison, his fallout with Dre, And finally the infamous night in Vegas after the mike tyson fight were he and suge spotted a rival gang member, were they proceeded to beat his ass into a pulp, only later to be killed in a drive by on his way to his nightclub. Which remains "unsolved" to this day.
Some people dont even believe he died that night, Personally i believe hes gone, but there are others who believe in the "7 day theory". That he faked his death, only to return one day. Ridiculous i know, but god damn, that would make a great ending!
The setting alone has so much potential, itll start in NY, to Baltimore, to the Bay, to L.A., & finally to Vegas. There are so much untapped material here to make an EPIC biopic. And its hard to believe tha man was only 23, yet has lived more lifetimes than most people.
As for N.W.A., well, there is plenty of story there too. From growing up in the streets of compton, pushing drugs, starting up a record label, selling those records from their trunks, attracting the attention of the FBI due to their "*beep* tha police" song, hitting number 1 on the charts with virtually ZERO radio or TV play, the inevitable breakout and the aftermath of it (the Violent beginnings of DEATHROW RECORDS), to finally Eazys Demise due to the aids virus.
I say 2012 would be the perfect time for an N.W.A. Biopic simply because and hopefully by then Dr. Dre would have already dropped "DETOX". And would call for a reunion record featuring the surviving members aswell as the inclusion of Snoop Dogg. :-)
