We were funding the mujahadeen way before CW

This is a nice Hollywood story but it is very inaccurate. US intelligentsia were funding the Afghans LONG before Charlie Wilson stumbled upon the conflict. We discussed this at some length in my Political Science: US Interventions class earlier in the semester.

true, it was brought up in the film near the beginning when it was discussed that the budget for afganhastan was 5 million dollars, and wilson ordered it doubled.

so what's your point?

if it wasn't for my horse, i wouldn't have spent that year in college
