Former Rep. Charlie Wilson, the Ohio Democrat whose career in Congress was launched in 2006 by a successful write-in campaign, died on Sunday due to complications from a stroke. Wilson had suffered a stroke in February while vacationing with his family and was recovering at a rehabilitation center, Democratic Party officials said. He fell ill Saturday night and was admitted to a hospital in Boynton Beach, where he died at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday with his family by his side, the officials said

Too bad he didn't die 35 years earlier.

While it can be argued that he could not have predicted 9/11, history is pretty clear that Afghanistan has been unstable no matter who was in control. Once the Soviets pulled out, the different Afghan factions fought amongst each other with the Taliban coming out on top. I don't need to state what came after that....

I have a stepson serving in Afghanistan at this very moment due in part to Mr. Wilson's actions. No RIPs should be forth coming, may he rot in hell.

Wrong Charlie Wilson. The person depicted in the film was from Texas, not Ohio.
