Charlie Wilson's War is an extremely well made film. The writing, directing and acting are all superb. That being said, I have some major problems with the subject of the film.

That being said, I have some major problems with the subject of the film.I think it's pretty clear that the film is designed to be thought - provoking, but still very clearly, an entertainment. It wasn't a biopic by any means and though we strongly feel Charlie has undergone some air-brushing for the purposes of the film, he is still seen, as very much a flawed "hero", rather than shining light to the world.
