Major flaw is stylistic rather than substantive
First off, I enjoyed this film immensely. It's about as entertaining and compelling as it gets. And no, unlike a lot of people, I didn't let politics get in the way of how I evaluated this film. Based on the message board activity here, it seems most people were watching this film waiting to have their prejudices and gripes confirmed or validated. But all I was looking for was a political drama and this film delivered that in spades.
Overall the performances were top notch, with one small complaint. There are several scenes in which people talk at lightning speed. It's so insane, it just defies realism. To be sure, this film is about highly intelligent, nimble people making risky decisions. But the way people spoke in a handful of scenes showed that the film was occasionally putting pyrotechnics over realism and thereby giving the film its only objective flaw.
Still, very much worthwhile and a fascinating look at a sliver of history.
