Why 7 was a female? *SPOILERS*

I Wondered, why especially the militant side of his personality was a female? Did he made her that way? i mean, as far as i get he can't choose what part of is soul would be inside of her, and he can't control her gender(?), so it probably has something to do with the arrtibutes of the character, but this personality is the least suitable for a feamle if you take the streotype of each character as the movie did.

I think it is because Tim Burton was a producer. He always puts contrasts in his movies, just look at Edward Scissorhands or Corpse Bride. I think this theme is followed over here. The warrior - 7 with a kind heart, The wise old leader - 1 driven solely by fear. Each stereotype is contrasted against itself.

Just a thought anyway.

Perhaps to represent the feminine side of the scientist's soul. I think Jungian philosophy says that every man has a feminine side and every woman a masculine side. Like in His Dark Materials how a person's daemon is the opposite of their gender. If the dolls were all different parts of his soul, 7 was his feminine side. Though I remember reading a theory that 7 was based off his wife - his 'soul mate' if you will

Even an all male society needs 1 chicka.

The smurfs have 1 smurfette. The post-apocalyptic puppets have Seven of Nine.

Woman writer. Of course a female character will be 100x more athletic, courageous, witty, and mature, and look good doing it. She's also kind enough to hold a boy's hand as he goes off on a suicide mission. It's a wholesome message for little girls
