Homage to the play and movie 1776
I couldn't help noticing this movie repeated sentences from 1776. While mant=y can be explained by the fact both works are based on historical characters and events, one sentence stands out in particular:
When Nabby is having her surgery, John paces while Abigail sits. At one point Abigail says exasperated, "For God's sake John, sit down", which is a line repeated over and over in the opening song of 1776.
Possibly coincidence or even subliminal but I suspect it was an homage to 1776.
