Could such a series work for the Civil War?

The Civil War was too vast to be able to capture in one mini-series, so which figure would be an interesting one to focus on? In some ways, I think Gettysburg and Gods and Generals (although the latter was really disappointing) got the job done well done enough.

There's plenty about Abe lincoln, so let's see one (as sympathetic as possible without endorsing his views) about Jefferson Davis.

The rise of Ulysses Grant.

You would be able to capture the high drama battles of the Western Theater, along with the horrific Eastern Theater battles, plus high politics by telling his story in a historically correct way.

Frank: Just a man.
Harmonica: An ancient race.
