Time-marking

First of all, I must say this is a beautifully done series, much needed to give a more nuanced view on the founding fathers. Great job all 'round.

One thing I found annyoing, however, was the lack of time-marks, (I'm not sure what else to call them) from here and there. I feel like it jumped a lot in time, but never really told us or gave any clear indication of it, aside from historical references. While I know a lot about the American Revolution, I don't know everything, and it felt like the series was a little condescending in this regard. Of course that's just my view on the matter, but I'd like to hear someone else's opinion, as I haven't been able to find a topic on it in here.
