Scene Influenced by The Godfather
I don't know if anyone mentioned this already, but did anyone else see an homage to The Godfather in the scene in the final episode when John is talking to now president John Quincy under a tree? In look and feel, it was very evocative of the scene in The Godfather where Michael shares his last scene with his father, Don Vito. It was a similar scene in that the older father was slightly disengaged and the younger, now in control son, was preoccupied with the duties of his new role. The main difference is of course in age, as John Adams and John Quincy were both older, respectively, than Vito and Michael. I have always thought that it was a planned homage to that all-time great movie and wonder if anyone else picked up the same sense that I did.
