Not all that impressed by the first ep.

I love kids, but I can already see the possibility for this season to go south really quickly. It seems like there editing to fit the kids (an possibly the parents) into stereotypes to push storylines. The egotistical girl with the stage mom, the cute European kid who was born to dance, the "poor black kid" who lost his dad and needs to persevere through dance, the ballroom dancers who don't quite make the cut until they beg Nigel for a second chance (which he commends them for). I'm tired of the tropes, just get to the dancing already.

Also, the need to bring in some quality guest judges. Nigel has to be there. I'm ok with Paula. Jason Derulo adds very little. who knows what Maddie will deliver. Wish they would bring back Mia, but that's an era long gone.

I agree with everything else you wrote, too. I said to my husband about 3/4 of the way through the episode... "I miss my show."

I watched first episode, too, and it wasn't nearly as awful as I thought it would be. I was sure it was going to be a bunch of 8-year-olds doing ballroom which I hate under any circumstances. There was a bit too much heart-string-pulling crying, but maybe we'll get some real dancing this year. I really disliked the street-vs-stage thing last year.

But I really miss the old format with real dancing. I'm sure this will be the last year.

I don't want to be that person, but kids can't dance well. They move well but technique comes with age. I hate watching kids dance because most of the time they just move their feet. Especially ballroom, I don't want to watch kids move their hips next to another 8 year old. Hopefully they're showing these episodes in the jail that Puck from Glee can see from his jail cell.

Like the girl that cried and was bullied because she was tall.. Like really?! I would kill to be tall and skinny lmao Let's cry because someone is tall!

Hey guys I was wondering if you could let me know if you are looking for new dancers in town and Im a new dancers musician and a actress I took acting in high school and I took dance classes before as well so I do know a little two or more thing's bout music industry I also think that you should let me a chance in the music industry acting and dancing because I am talented enough and I know how to do everything I write my own song's etc I can write my own Broadway as well I have a fiew idea's about up on my sleeve contact me on twitter and let me help you out and we can even team up and work together hoping we can I want live w out a contract a.s.a.p. please contact me as soon as you can.
