The heading on The Hollywood Reporter story was 'So You Think You Can Dance' Gets a Lifeline from Elvis Presley
...And of course, Nigel Lythgoe was in a relationship with Priscilla Presley. Guess also maybe he had to sell his six houses to pay the bills.

Nigel first met Priscilla when American Idol was filmed at Graceland. 'At first, I just wanted to hear the stories, to find out what it was like to be married to the American Idol. She's beautiful to talk to.'
So has theirs become something more than a meeting of minds?
'It's grown into a wonderful friendship,' he says. Fine. But is it also a romance? 'I'm not sure what's meant by a romance,' he counters. 'I don't really know the meaning of that word.' (Oh yes you do, Nigel!)
'We text each other. We phone. We have dinner. But we're not about to set up home. I've grown fond of her family, of Lisa Marie and her children.'
Might he consider marrying again? 'I'd consider it. But I don't feel I could pin myself down. Bonnie leaving me took me by surprise. I've been upset because of it for a long time now.'
He makes an effort to change the mood. 'Since I've been in the U.S.,' he says, 'I've lost the back of my heart, 15ft of intestine and my marriage - and God, I miss my intestine.'
But there's a gung-ho ring to these words that sounds rehearsed and hollow.
'When new friends like Priscilla come into your life, it does help to heal the wounds. She's so intelligent. She's lived such a full life. We discuss charity, the world, politics, Elvis. And, although she's involved with Scientology, she's never forced that on me.'
He smiles. 'Priscilla's the sweetest person you could ever hope to meet.'
