Cancelling the show would have been better

It would have been better to maintain the credibility and integrity of the show to have cancelled it last season. This year just seems a desperate compromise. Now we will remember not a great dancing show but a stupid kid's show. My heart just sunk when this season started.

The ratings started out better than last season, but now they're back down to last season's ratings. I'm watching it and, for the most part, enjoying it. I thought the kids did an amazing job with the Travis Wall routine last night. But, evidently I'm in the minority.

Just a fact check on the ratings. Season 12 started out with a 1.3, 1.1, 1.3 then down to .9 and flirted with between .9 and 1. 2nd to last episode hit the low of .7.

This year, season 13, started out with 1.0 dropped to .9 then on the 6th week and since it has been to lowest ever for the show at the .7 mark.

Ratings are in the tank for SYTYCD.

I dropped out myself midway through the 2nd week of the show. I watched every episode at least once in the 12 seasons and hated that it went to a children's show. I did try this last Monday night to watch and when I tuned in there was a child judge reviewing a dance routine. That made me turn the show off again. You have a child, don't know if she is a teen or not, trying to be a judge like Nigel, Mary or the others that have judged before. Get a few more years of experience before judging others.

I sure would love to see one more year of the original format but odds are probably 99% against that.

I'm very disappointed. This is a very bad idea. Seems exploitative. Don't like kids that young in this much media spotlight or under such pressure. Just my opinion.
