No . . . just, no.
When "The Next Generation" was first announced, some people predicted that it would be awkward or creepy. There were many performances yesterday to prove that they wouldn't ALL be that way. The contemporary dances were heartbreakingly beautiful. All of the hip hop routines were high-energy show stoppers.
Unfortunately the Latin dancing seemed to fulfill those early predictions. There's no question that Jake is a talented kid. There's no doubt in my mind that if Generaux had prepared a solo routine for him, it would have been great. Unfortunately, the huge height difference between Jake and Jenna made their routine look incredibly clumsy, even though they didn't mess up any of the choreography. She should have gone with the taller kid (I forget his name).
I also thought that Paul and Ruby's dance was, not awkward, but a bit creepy. I mean, she's only 13.
