Does this girl not have parents?

Doesn't this 16 year old girl that lives in a rich neighborhood have parents? Wouldn't her father ask her why she's being picked up by a 35 year old man??

Well a lot of young girls are interested in older men and I'd say that there's plenty of self-absorbed people/parents in Beverly Hills.

Sure in my family, Asian, that stuff probably wouldn't happen but there are a lot of families in America where parents try not to intrude in their teens' lives, for better or worse.

Did you see the movie? Liam actually meets her dad.

Liam is 28 (12 years older) and yes, she does have a parent; a dad who shows up towards the ending of the movie. The mom died when she was a little girl of lung cancer despite that she wasn't a smoker.

It would be so nice if something would make sense for a change.

Yeah, I was wondering that myself during the movie and then I saw the dad at the end and he had no idea who Liam was. Did he never wonder who this guy was taking her to school every morning?
