Was it bad directing, bad screenplay, or bad acting?

I think it was a perfect storm of all 3. How many times did the step-daughter and step-mom have to fight with each other (and how did that build dramatic tension)? When they're looking for lions, don't ya think it would have been a pretty good idea to pull the mop of hair out of their eyes (mom and kid)? Pity that poor Peter Weller got attached to this mess, he deserves better. Pathetic throughout. Someone please take Darrell Roodt's camera away. Lighting was good, though. Rates a minus 4.

Yep, a nice little trinity of fail. I'd have to say, though, that however bad the directing was, it had to be the best of three. I think on the vomit-o-meter, the acting and the screenplay were tied. I've never wanted so badly to see ALL the protagonists of a movie get eaten alive. I agree, what was Peter Weller thinking? He must have lost a bet.
