were the Valkyries real?

when Robin revealed what was going down to Walberg I figured hed go on to find the Valkyries were real and that would be the story that the drug unintentionally opened the mind up to these mythical creatures and a dark underworld only some people knew about - like The Matrix, Dark City, Terminator, Constantine, Scanners, Highlander, Blade, and more recently Lucy

but it didn't really address it and became more about the conspiracy behind his familys murder and the Valkyries seemed to be more of a hallucination thing?

They were hallucinations brought on by the drugs.

Went from a potentially great film to a lame one

Personally I think they were real.

George Orwell was an optimist.

I always feelt like they where real. However when it is only the people using drugs who can see them, well then they do not looks so real.

They were real, whenever they showed up, people were about to die. Guy got hit by a train, girl gets murdered in an ally, guy falls to his death, Max almost gets shot by a security guard but then they disappear when Mona saves him. Also, they make lights flicker or go out when they're around. When Max takes the drugs, he causes a blackout in a small portion of the city, he's about to go on a huge killing spree and the Valkyries follow him. Besides, everyone who took the drugs saw the Valkyries, so there's no way they could all see the same thing unless it was real. The drugs heightened their senses to the point where they could see into the next life. It's a very interesting idea, I just don't see what purpose it serves in this movie. You take the Valkyries away and nothing in this movie changes.

interesting theory. yes it dosnt seem to serve a purpose..the main focus seems to be who killed Maxs family..the Valkyries are almost a subplot. would've been more interesting for them to become the main focus in the investigation
