The acting was shockingly bad!

Liev Schrieber - Would it have killed him to, you know, show some emotion at some point in the film? Monotone, lifeless line delivery throughout. I got the impression he was forced into making this film or didn't want to do it.

Julia Stiles - She was mis-cast and very annoying and shrill. She made me hate her character! Also zero chemistry with Schreiber but then again having chemistry with him in this movie is akin to trying to have chemistry with a night stand.

Mia Farrow - OK, not her fault. I blame the script for altering the character. However, the nanny in the original (Billie Whitelaw) is vastly superior and it's obvious why Whitelaw won awards for the role and Farrow did not.

I'm actually quite shocked people prefer this to the original! I watched them back to back and the original is vastly superior in nearly EVERY way. And no, it is not "dated" either.

Gregory Peck was pretty much mechanical as his acting style....Hard to imitate a natural...

The parents were middle aged in the original and kinda suited the imagery and theme....but they needed a hip couple (stiles didnt even show much emotional bond with Bourne)
