wouldn't have got a teeny bit suspicious when...

the wife's therapist wouldn't be drawn on whether or not he believed in God but within minutes after that rebuff he's telling the husband that they must have an abortion...alarm bells would have rung in my head!

Cambridge man you know. His uncle Bertie and I used to break wind for our college.

I always liked to believe that in this version at least the therapist was definitely one of the devil's followers and definitely part of the whole plan for Damian. He was called to be the therapist of that family if one should be needed in order that he might manipulate things for the sake of Damian. Look at his reaction when Thorn even asks if he believes in God. And also look at his reaction when Thorn is adament about not having her get the abortion. The thing is the way the therapist talks its as if he does not know about Thorn knowing Damian is not his real son and the so called death at birth of his real son. Perhaps the therapist was unaware and just believed there was a switch made. His office was kind of creepy and dark looking too.

The scary clown doll is hiding under my bed.
