The death of damiens 'mother' in hospital

Is it possible to kill someone the way Mrs. Blaylock killed Damien's "mother" in the hospital?

I could be wrong but I would think it was possible. Didn't she just insert some kind of poison(red colored apparently) into the iv bag and it went into her. Obviously if Damian was not outside using his devil powers the guard would have reacted. I'm sure he must have heard something going on. I guess his job would be over after that.

She killed Kate with an air embolism. Injected an air bubble into the IV, and it traveled into her system and into her brain.
I think it would be found in an autopsy, but like in the first film, by the time an investigation really got going Mr. Thorn would be dead.

"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Oh okay now I know what really happened. I wondered what the hell she was injecting her with. Thought it was some kind of poison that froze the heart and they just used used the red symbolic color. Actually it makes it the red more creepy knowing the fact it was just air going into her system for some reason. And yeah lol as it turns out it wouldn't matter even if they could detect it because not only would Thorn be dead but Mrs. Baylock was as well.

To be honest in my opinion and from what I know...yes it is possible but not with the syringe that she used. A man in New Hampshire in 1949 killed a cancer patient by injecting 40 milliliters of air into them to help them escape the terrible things they were going through. I do remember reading that injecting someone with 20 milliliters or more of air can cause the person to possibly die, 40 is for sure.

Mrs. Baylock injected about 40 cc's of air into that tube.....I highly doubt that would kill a person. Now I may be wrong but it just seemed ridiculous to me. I found the scene intense and well done by the actresses, but it just wasn't medically accurate in my opinion.....I had a liver transplant when I was 10 months old *25 now* so I've had many IV's, I believe I've had an air bubble or two, not 40 cc's but it didn't hurt me.

I think it would of been better if she injected her with some kind of poison or something...that's just me though. I just don't think someone can die with so little injected into their tube and to die so quickly. But its a movie so who knows lol. Again I personally found the scene well done all else considered.....except the fact that there wasn't a guard in her room since she was conked out on pain meds most of the time lol, only one guard barely standing by the door for an Ambassadors wife bothered me a bit.

eh, the first one was better...right out the window...and Baylock was kind of creepy in that scene.....

We are lead to believe that Mrs. Blaylock created an "air embolism"...and creating a heart attack. But in this case, the syringe used wasn't big enough to do that. More air -- a bigger syringe -- would be needed. When the air interferes with getting blood to the brain, then brain damage or death can occur. But the little needle Mia used couldn't do the job. The air injected would have to be a large enough volume to cut-off blood to the brain -- as a blood clot will do, which will result in a stroke or myocardial infarction.
