My review of 'The Omen'

"The Omen" from 2006 is a classic example of cinematic deja vu, because it's the same exact film from 1976 -- Word for word, page for page, and... unfortunately... dollar for dollar.

I am wondering if there were few scenes that filmed that did not show up on the deleted scene section of the DVD. I think if there had been a few added things to the movie it could have helped even if everything else was the same. But there are time limits on movies. I wish they had made Damian talk a little bit more in this version of the movie. I believe he only speaks about two times throughout the film. At the beginning after he scares his mom in the park and at the end when he is screaming and then begs his dad not to kill him.

The scary clown doll is hiding under my bed.

There were a significant number of things that weren't in the original movie, such as the opening sequence in the Vatican, the lame dream sequences and the death of the Pope at the same time as Thorn is shot. Most if these additions ruined the suspense of the film, and the death of the Pope was pointless. Are we to infer that Devil Boy killed Il Papa somehow as well? If so what would be the point. The whole College if Cardinals saw the PowerPoint presentation on Big Nick's plans for Armagedden, not just the Pope.
