Well, Jesus is God the Son and therefore has the power to come and go at will. The devil can only do what God tells/allows him to do.
As for the jackal thing, I had just assumed that they did like they do with surrogate mothers and had implanted the embryo into the jackal's womb. But, that's just one possible explanation out of a hundred I guess!

I have read the omen novel a few times and yet don't remember it demonstrating that literally Satan was there during a ritual. And i thought the screams of the jackal referred to it giving birth. Well not giving birth the natural way but a c section. Having its belly cut open while still awake. Btw I love the idea that Satan literally showed up and literally had sex with the jackal so much more than Satan spiritually impregnating the jackal like God spiritually impregnating mary. I am also ,curious if Satan took the form of a human man when he did this. If they remade the sequels I say in part III they should show a flashback of this. I say that Satan in human form should look exactly like the guy who would play damian. I always thought if thought live strieber could play adult damian. Just change his hair style.
