An hour and a half of my life I won't get back

I just finished watching this piece of trash and it has to rate as one of the worst films I have seen, absolute tripe and that's me being kind. My expectations weren't high for the film but at the very least I thought it might be a fun, entertaining horror movie. Boy was I wrong. The first hour just dragged and mostly what I got was were padded out scenes of half naked or naked women romping about while guys oggled them. Then there was the last half hour where things picked up slightly but it then began to get ridiculous. Some bits were suitable intense but others were just horrendous! The scene with the guys crying the woman on the the beach and her body splitting in too was laughable and as for some of the lines that Jerry O' Connell got, Jesus! The humour which the writers tried to add didn't sit well with the more intense moments and the bit with the Piranha swallow the penis and throwing it back up just came across as juvenile and ridiculous. Not to mention that the romantic sub-plot was poorly handled and felt tacked on. How this even got a 6.0 score is beyond me!

There's fun trash and then there's simply just trash, this was the latter. I wasn't expecting anything highbrow, far from it but even in the fun and non-pretentious you expect something of quality, This movie had none. I've seen other Horror movies which have been done this sort of thing better. "Ravenous", "Doghouse" and "Severance" for example. And btw saying, well what do you expect is a poor defence for a film that in my opinion can't be defended lol

Silence: I'm with you. I wasn't expecting Citizen Kane but this trash was beyond anything I've seen (and I watch a lot of horror, slasher, sy- fy type). I knew T&A would be front and center (fine) and I knew there would be plenty of blood & gore (okay) but the over the top gore and flesh being ripped, shredded and torn was not necessary. I love a fun horror movie like Zombie Land but this was stupid to the max!

reply

Exactly. That's the best way to put it. It could have been fun trash. But it was simply trash. No fun to be had what so ever.

reply

and by the time you finished typing your comment, that's another 10 minutes of your life you won't get back either.

reply

So says someone who doesn't have an argument to defend the movie and come up with childish asides. Enough said. Disagree with me mate but try a little harder and not be a troll eh.

reply

I have to agree. I gave it a score of 1 because Kelly Brook is pretty.

It was easily the worst movie I've seen in the past decade.

reply

Have you SEEN Avatar, Transformers, the Star Wars prequels, etc?
Go watch those and tell me Piranha "easily the worst movie I've seen in the past decade. "

reply

No, I haven't because I was forewarned about how bad they are. To this day, I haven't seen any of them. So, I will acknowledge they might be as bad, but honest to God they could not be much worse.

reply

You should try watching one, you'd be surprised as to how bad they are (especially Transformers).

"An hour and a half of my life I won't get back"
and then you waste MORE time explaining why you don't like a fun little flick, and we're suppose to take you seriously? lol

reply

Well, last time I looked this was supposed to be a message board where we'ere allowed to post our opinions on a movie whether it be good or bad. I think people like yourselves come across as childish and petulant. Rather than explain why you disagree you throw random insults! At least I took the time to explain why I didn't like it. And ten minutes doesn't compare to an hour and a half although the comment wasn't meant to be taken too literally. It was just a remark to describe how I hated the film. I don't mind someone disagreeing but put a little effort in because otherwise you just end up coming across as a insecure troll who can't hack another persons point of view.

Whatever you say bud :)

reply

Whatever you say by people too dull of thought to come up with a suitable argument
jackass!

reply

Alright then :)
(you're so angry)

reply

Ooh, that hurt. How long did it come up with to come up with that one genius! Did you come up with that all by yourself. Here'a ball with you to play with. Now go out side and play with all the other urchins out in the street!

reply

Okay :)

reply

Is that all the thought you're brain can muster lol

reply

Sure, whatever :)

reply

Try again dipsh!t lol

reply

Okie dokie Loki :)

reply

Lol!

reply

Is that fact or just your opinion. And yes I think Timberlake can act. What of it?! I thought we were talking about "Piranha" and not Justin Timberlake. If you want to defend the movie go right ahead, you're entitled to your opinion but don't drag another opinion in to the subject as if it somehow validates a point because it doesn't! I haven't always agreed with certain people's opinion but I have agreed with others. All your remark proves is that you just happen to disagree with another opinion that I have. Well good for you!

..theres always one.

While I wasn't expecting great art, I did expect something a little different and an attempt to be scared. But this was loaded with so many cliches it wasn't even enjoyable on a trashy level. It would be nice if these "film makers" could at least attempt to do something different instead of referencing other movies and using cliched dialogue, which has become the norm for most Hollywood films. It's lazy film making. Then again this movie had Eli Roth in it so that should tell you right there that anyone with a brain wasn't involved with this production.
