The opening sequence
One of the most intense adrenalized gut-wrenching openings to a horror flick in the history of cinema.
Anyone know of other *horror* films that can rival this opening?

Totally agree ! first time i saw this opening i thought oh wow this is gonna be some film cos the opening scene is amazing !
Pity the rest of the film was a complete letdown :(
But wow the opening scenes !
I dont think the film was a complete letdown, but it certainly could have carried that opening energy better. And definitely not as unique as 28 days, but still pretty cool. A decent flick with a few awesome sequences.
shareOnce it breaks free, the opening of Dusk till Dawn is very intense.
shareI remember the first time I saw From Dusk till dawn, not really knowing what to expect, and that opening totally caught me off guard. Definitely one one of my favorite openings (and it's such a whacky awesome horror flick in general, such fun).
shareI never really know if calling it a horror flick is accurate. It's almost an action movie that happens to feature brutal vampires. It's an odd case of a movie not necessarily being great, but is intensely entertaining regardless. I've watched it countless times.
shareYeah, it's not really a horror flick, I just say that because of the vampires. I've always thought of it as a half n half type deal. The first part is a crime thriller, the second part is campy horror. And altogether...I guess it's a film of blended genres, or something like that.
sharethe opening scene was the gas station? I just watched it and it wasn't very intense to me. am I missing something?
The pre-credits sequence in the remake of Dawn of the Dead was good.
shareYes it’s a very good opening but I would say the opening to Saving Private Ryan is just as good and just as intense. The rest of that film never lives up to the opening.
