Magnificent

This board seems polarizing but I don't get it, the movie was by far the best war-time realistic movie I have seen (IE not counting war time in Lord of The Rings or Star Wars).

The movie was perfect, Bale was excellent, his skills were excellent, he was heroic, intelligent. The movie was dark but not too dark. They did not go over the top and make it so heavy that you would never want to watch it again. Certain movies do that say, Schindlers list you enjoyed it but if you never want to see it again how good could it have actually been? This movies showed a true depection of how life was there. How difficult it was. The escape by Bale was great and the rescue was good.

The villian of the movie was essentially Eugene who was a complete hippy idiot thwarting Bales attempts to leave.

The Vietnamese showed their side to be incompetent and underfed and understaffed while the US army looked much better. Which is a real depiction. The US only lost Vietnam if you use the metric that Vietnam stayed Communist but the U.S. clearly suffered way less.

So I guess Schindler's List was a bad movie because Southernman100 didn't want to sit through it again. Finally, a new standard for film criticism, just what we've been waiting for.

"The escape by Bale was great and the rescue was good." That really sheds light on things.

Sorry for the sarcasm, but really, I can't help it. Oh, and by the way, the villain of the movie is war. Not hippies.

I am saying if a movie is so heavy u have no desire to watch it again then its not that good.

A movie being good shouldn't mean you watch it every night but it should be enjoyable and exciting.

I do agree with you, and I agree with your review of the film, too. I think I was in a bad mood when I read your review and misinterpreted it, so I apologize. I think what you mean about Schindler's list is that you don't look forward to watching it again, which I understand because I feel the same way. Yet every time I have found myself catching it on TV, it completely absorbs me all over again.
