In Mike Reynolds user comment / review he says that that "the saddest thing about Albert Pierrepoint is that he applied for the job."

Although he may have applied for the job, it was a job that both his father and grandfather had done before him.

Actually, it was his Grandfather and UNCLE, not his father. Albert assisted his Uncle several times, so knew the ropes.....so to speak

No, if you read his autobiography, "Executioner Pierrepoint," you will find it was his father, not his grandfather.

Albert Pierepoint Assisted his uncle Tom with hangings in Ireland and after he was appointed to the list they assisted each other he never helped his father whi died at an early age after long illness
