Further Goofs

Last Hangman
(1) When Pierpoint complained about the food it was not at the hanging of Tish it was at a double hanging at Winchester where Syd Dernley was his assistant
(2) also as pointed out at the Hamlin hangings there were 3 women not 4 and in the DVD Irma Grese said you are doing the work for the Jews where according to Pierepoint she went to be weighed laughing and only commented about her weight
Both Pierepoint and Dernley who also officiated at the hanging of Timothy Evans claimed Evans never spoke a word in the DVD he said I think it was Christie
There is an interesting 25 minute interview on the net with Pierepoint but on the whole it is a good DVD but interesting book called The Hangmans tale by Syd Dernley does paint a bit of a different picture to Pierepoints book
Does anyone know which was pierepoints only hanging at Armley Leeds someone I knew got hung there in 1953 I did meet Pierepoint once and found him to be very pleasant at Houl when he had The Rose and Crown and true he did not talk about his proffesion though it was rumoured that he had made a deal with the then Empire News to disclose all but deal was scrapped through The Official Secrets Act

I wouldn't consider these to be goofs as it is expected with most dramatisations that drama itself is added to the film beit fiction or non fiction to add spice so its not surprising therefore that the film makers changed the chronology of events or added or subtracted information because its what makes the film more watchable that counts in the eye of the film maker.
