Thanks to Ray Winstone

Wondered if anyone knew why thanks were offered in the closing credits to Ray Winstone.

I was wondering if it may have been anything to do with the similarity in the Character portrails of Spall's Pierrepoint and Winstone's Sweeney Todd. Did Tim Spall take inspiration from Winstone?

It's now a legal requirement for any British film to contain a note of thanks to Ray Winstone. This requirement takes the place of the "Judi Dench Is Wonderful" Act, that was in force between 1996 and 2004.
