160 pounds?
When will film-makers realise that here in the UK we DO NOT use pounds for measuring someone's weight, but stones! (A few minutes in, when asked to calculate 'drop length'.)

Yes we do!!! 1 stone is 14lbs. Okay, when we talk about it we refer to being, say 9 1/2 stone, as a pose to 133lbs. But I should imagine the formula that the hangmen used to calculate drop length, would be easier to work out by saying 160lb instead of 11.43 stone. Just my pennies worth :o)
shareI agree. When a person talks about their weight they might use stones but when an engineer talks about weight and tensions then they would be likely to use pounds (e.g. XX pounds per square inch)- just like fishing line is graded in pounds not stone.
shareIt might be considered easier by some, but the British Home Office table of drops for executions very definitely used the British system of stones and pounds, so that is clearly a deliberate goof used for the benefit of the American market.
